About Rest House

Built on the belief that rest is sacred.

Rest House Inc. exists to be a sanctuary — a beautiful, safe place where women weary from trauma, burnout, and grief can experience true restoration.

Sanctuary interior

Our story

A vision born from noticing what women were quietly carrying.

Rest House was founded by women who saw, in their own lives and in the lives of those they loved, how difficult it can be to find rest that truly restores. Between full calendars, invisible grief, and the weight of caregiving, so many women never encounter a space designed for their whole healing.

We set out to create something different — beautiful, trauma-informed, spiritually grounded, and radically welcoming.

Our Mission

The mission of Rest House Inc is to help women accomplish their mental health goals through rest, resources, and restoration.

Our Goal

To provide restorative environments, mental wellness education, and a compassionate community that help women heal from trauma, abuse, burnout, anxiety, grief, and major life transitions.

Our Vision

A world where every woman has access to a place of rest, dignity, and hope — where healing is expected, beautiful, and within reach.

What guides us

Values shaped by care, faith, and dignity.

  • Rest as restoration

We believe rest is not a reward — it is the foundation of healing.

  • Trauma-informed always

Every space, every conversation, every program centers safety and consent.

  • Faith with reverence

Spiritually grounded, never coercive. Hope offered gently.

  • Beauty as care

We design with beauty because women deserve beautiful things.

  • Access without shame

No woman is turned away because of finances.

Meet the founder

A seasoned nonprofit leader who knows the work — and lived the need.

Toni Dixon, MBA, is a nonprofit development consultant, storyteller, and entrepreneur with nearly two decades of experience in development, fundraising, and grant writing. She has a remarkable track record of not simply meeting annual revenue goals but exceeding them — raising millions of dollars each year from corporate, individual, foundation, and church partners, and leading teams to success along the way.

Her expertise spans securing funding, marketing and brand strategy, and public relations. She is an expert grants specialist skilled in both writing and management, with formal training in planned giving, capital campaign planning, fundraising, and leadership. She holds a Master of Business Administration focused on entrepreneurship, pairing academic rigor with hands-on results.

At Atlanta Mission, Toni served as Director of Foundations and Corporate Relations and as Senior Development Officer, where she raised significant funds, led major initiatives, and built a new Corporate Engagement Program. Her contributions earned her the organization's Employee of the Year award in 2015.

As CEO, President, and Management Consultant at Nonprofit Today, Inc., she has been instrumental in federal and state grants management, nonprofit infrastructure development, and program development and evaluation. She coaches nonprofit leaders, board members, and emerging consultants, and has authored courses that equip others to start and grow healthy organizations. Funders who partner with Rest House are investing in an organization led by someone who builds nonprofits for a living.

“God led me to a place to rest and breathe. I want to lead people to that same place.”
Toni Dixon, on founding Rest House Inc.

Toni started Rest House, Inc. in 2025 to answer a need that was missing in her own life: access to rest, and the acknowledgment that rest is necessary after burnout from being everyone's safe place and after life's traumatic events. Sometimes, as women, we lose ourselves to life. We wake up and realize we have lost the energy to do anything but exist. To live, we have to have the desire to. Finding a place to breathe, rest, and reflect was essential to getting clarity and direction — a place to find yourself, and find life, for you, first. That is just the beginning. Hope comes with it.

Toni is the mother of four beautiful, compassionate adult children who serve alongside her at Rest House, Inc. She resides in Atlanta, Georgia.
