Privacy Policy
Your trust is sacred to us. This policy explains what information Rest House Inc. collects, why we collect it, and the care we take to protect it.
Last updated: July 28, 2026
Who we are
Rest House Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Atlanta, Georgia, serving women healing from trauma, grief, burnout, and major life transitions. This policy applies to theresthouse.org and any Rest House Inc. page, form, or service that links to it.
Information we collect
- Information you give us. Your name, email address, phone number, mailing address, and any message content you submit through our contact, referral, volunteer, newsletter, retreat registration, or booking forms.
- Donation information. Gift amount, frequency, and receipt details. Payments are processed by Stripe — Rest House Inc. never sees or stores your full card number, CVV, or bank credentials.
- Account information. If you create a donor account to manage recurring giving, we store your email address and giving history.
- Technical information. Basic, non-identifying data such as browser type, device type, referring page, and pages visited, used to keep the site working well.
- Sensitive personal stories. If you voluntarily share details about your circumstances — for example when referring yourself or another woman — we treat that information as confidential and share it only with the staff or volunteers who need it to respond.
How we use your information
- To respond to messages, referrals, and retreat or booking inquiries.
- To process donations, issue receipts, and manage recurring gifts.
- To send newsletters, impact stories, and event invitations — only if you have opted in.
- To coordinate volunteers, partners, and retreat logistics.
- To improve our programs, communications, and website.
- To meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations.
We do not use your information to make automated decisions about you, and we do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to anyone. Ever.
Service providers we rely on
We share the minimum necessary information with trusted providers who help us operate:
- Stripe — donation and payment processing.
- Brevo — email newsletter delivery and contact management.
- Wix Bookings — retreat and session scheduling.
- Lovable Cloud — website hosting, database, and authentication.
Each provider is bound by its own privacy and security commitments and may only use your data to deliver services to Rest House Inc. We may also disclose information when required by law or to protect the safety of a person at risk.
Email and communication choices
Every newsletter includes an unsubscribe link, and you may opt out at any time by emailing us. Transactional messages — donation receipts, registration confirmations, and replies to your inquiries — may still be sent because they are necessary to serve you.
Cookies and analytics
We use only essential cookies needed for the site, secure donor sign-in, and checkout to function. We do not run advertising trackers or sell audience data. You can block or delete cookies in your browser, though some features such as the donor dashboard may not work without them.
How we protect your information
Data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections and stored with access controls that limit visibility to authorized staff. Payment data is handled entirely by PCI-compliant processors. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so we continually review our practices — and we will notify affected individuals promptly if a breach of their personal information occurs.
How long we keep your information
Donation and financial records are retained as long as required by IRS and state nonprofit regulations. Newsletter contacts are kept until you unsubscribe. Inquiry and referral messages are retained only as long as needed to serve you and support our care work, then deleted.
Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to stop contacting you, or request a copy of your data. Email resthouseatlanta@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days. Deletion requests cannot remove records we are legally required to keep, such as donation receipts.
Children's privacy
Our programs and website are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Crisis note
Rest House Inc. does not provide emergency or clinical services. If you or someone you love is in immediate danger, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) or 911.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our programs grow. Material changes will be posted here with a new "last updated" date.
